1. Update your organisation’s information
Every organisation operating under HYY must annually provide their up-to-date information to HYY. This information is submitted through the organisation information form. The form must be completed whether your organisation is applying for an activity grant or not. Organisations applying for an activity grant must complete the information form by February 29. Other organisations must update their information by 30 September at the latest.
2. Apply for HYY’s operating grant!
All organizations have been sent an invitation to fill out the application form for activity grant! If you did not receive yours, send a message to janne.salokoski@hyy.fi.
Any organisation operating under HYY is eligible to apply for an operating grant. Before applying, please read the conditions for the grant and its use, and the operating grant allocation model. Please also remember to fill in the information form for organisations, as this is a prerequisite for the grant.
The application period for the operating grant is 1–29 February 2024. The application form closes on 29 February 2024 at 4.00 pm. We will not process late applications.
3. Join the HYY Organisation Info Telegram-channel
The channel provides quick and efficient information on current issues. By subscribing to the channel, you will be informed immediately when there is new information about the renovation of the New Student House, when the booking rounds for Alina Hall start or when there is only one hour left to fill in the organization premise application.
4. Meeting for HYY’s international organisations 4 March
Come to meet other organisational actives and discuss current issues in your organisation! You will also get to hear about current topics from HYY’s organisations and international sectors. The meeting will take place on March 4 at 16.30 – 18.00 at HYY’s Central Office (Mannerheimintie 5A, 2nd floor). Sign up by 29 Feb!
5. Have your say on the University’s equality plan!
The University is updating its Equality and Diversity Plan this year and is now collecting ideas and feedback for it. Submit your comments by 11 March.
6. Suggest a candidate for the Maikki Friberg equality and diversity award 2024!
The Maikki Friberg Award is granted annually for notable work towards the promotion of equality at the University of Helsinki. All members of the University community may suggest a candidate. Communities and units may also propose themselves for the award. Submit your suggestions by 21st March.
7. Apply for financial positions in HYY and Ylva!
We are looking for active students interested in and familiar with the Student Union’s finances for the boards of Ylva and Ylioppilaslehden Kustannus Ltd. The students act as equal members of the board with a duty to advance the interests of the company while listening to the owner. Read more and apply by 3 March 11:59 pm!
8. Come and test restaurant Domus 27 Feb
Are you planning an annual celebration, a sittning party or any other big event for your organisation? Restaurant Domus is a high-quality restaurant for private events owned and operated by the University of Helsinki’s student union. We offer restaurant and party services for organisations within HYY at a student-friendly price.
Venue: Restaurant Domus, Hietaniemenkatu 14 Date and time: Tuesday 27 February, 5 pm to 8 pm
The event offers the opportunity to look around the restaurant, taste delicacies from our kitchen, and learn more about how Domus could be suitable for your organisation’s celebrations and events. The invitation is for two guests.
Register by 21 February. But hurry, because the number of seats is limited!
