HYY’s organisational premises to gradually open – the reservation calendar reintroduced in late September

HYY’s organisational premises will become available for organisations to use in autumn 2026 once the joint-use premises at Domus Gaudium and the library building are deemed fit for use.

The joint-use premises HYY offers to organisations will open gradually in autumn 2026. Organisations operating under HYY can reserve the premises for their use through the reservation calendar if they have been granted the right to use the premises. Organisations had the opportunity to apply for a right to use the premises in spring 2026. 

Both the premises and the reservation calendar have been prepared by HYY’s Central Office with the help of volunteers from organisations.

Reservation calendar for premises to open on 30 September

HYY’s reservation calendar for premises will open at 12 noon on Wednesday 30 September. The first space you can reserve is the festive space Mattson. Other premises will be made available for reservations through the calendar once they are fit for use.

To use the reservation calendar, organisations will need to log in using the email they have submitted as their primary contact information on the contact details form for organisations. The reservation calendar is available at kalenteri.hyy.fi. Organisations will be sent an invitation to the reservation calendar by Monday 28 September. If you do not get an invitation by then, please send email to janne.saranpaa@hyy.fi.

Festive space Mattson available for organisations starting from 5 October

The first organisational space to become available for organisations to use is festive space Mattson, which includes a festive hall, a kitchen, the karaoke/party room Ilo and the storage/retreat space Rauha. For fire safety reasons, the maximum number of people the space can accommodate is 80. Organisations can use Mattson from 5 October onwards. Organisations can make reservations to the space starting from 12 noon on 30 September. 

The fee for using the space is discounted in autumn 2026 as we are still developing the equipment and functionality of the space during the autumn. Unfortunately, we do not have a list of equipment for the space yet. Furthermore, organisations are currently responsible for cleaning the space themselves in connection with their reservation. 

The fee for using the premises, €60, is paid at HYY’s Services Office when collecting the keys.

Access passes and keys to HYY’s organisational premises

Organisations can send HYY name lists of their officials who should get keys to HYY’s organisational premises. Everyone with keys and access passes has the same access rights for the premises – there will be no separate levels of access rights. HYY will not need official minutes on granting the access rights. However, you must make some kind of a decision on the people who have access passes and keys in each organisation. Please send the name lists by email to toimisto@hyy.fi. 

The access rights can be updated to your old key fobs if your officials still have them. If needed, you can buy new key fobs from HYY’s Services Office for €6.50 each. There may be a small delay with updating the access rights.

Introduction of organisations’ cabinets

Organisations’ own cabinets will become available gradually. Organisations that have previously operated in Domus Gaudium may move their property into their designated cabinets as soon as they have got their access passes. Organisations may buy locks of their own choosing for their cabinets. Once the organisations’ property has been moved to the cabinets, the other spaces in Domus Gaudium will become available for reservations. 

At the library building, property may be moved into the cabinets once their placement is finalised. Unfortunately, this may still take some time.

Address changes and organisations’ mail

Unfortunately, we have not come up with a reasonable way to deal with organisations’ mail at Domus Gaudium and the library building in a safe and functional manner. For this reason, organisations must direct their mail to either the home of one of their officials, a PO box or some other address.

Background on the situation

HYY moved its entire operation to Domus Gaudium and the library building in May–June 2026. Organisations’ wishes for ways of using the premises along with their needs for furniture and equipment was charted in spring 2026. All the premises are in joint use by the organisations and HYY. This means that organisations are no longer granted the right to use a specific space or facility cluster as they were under the previous model. Instead, facilities may be reserved according to need. 

For the further development of the premises, we are considering various participatory models under which representatives of organisations could share their comments and views on the premises among everyone.
