Join the Committees!

Are you inspired by event production, environment, activities in student organisations or development cooperation, for instance? Get involved with HYY’s committee activities! In the committees, you get to do things that interest you and meet new people. New members’ evenings are organised in February and March, but everyone is definitely welcome to join the action at any time!

Development Cooperation Committee 18.2.

Did you know that your student union is involved in development cooperation? Or that it has a project in Mozambique? Would you like to understand global inequality and learn more about it in a low-threshold atmosphere?

If you answered yes, join us to learn more about the Development Cooperation Committee’s activities! We are organising a new members’ evening in connection with the committee’s meeting, which is held at 6 pm on 27 February in meeting room Barrikaadi at Mechelininkatu 3D. In the meeting, you will get to see what the committee’s activities entail in concrete terms. Your study background or previous knowledge about the theme does not matter – you can come as you are! The event is open to all members of HYY.

Environmental Committee 20.2.

Do environmental issues make you want to act and improve environmental awareness at the University? In the Environmental Committee, you will get to take part in organising environmentally themed events and excursions while being empowered by and enjoying the company of like-minded people. In addition to all this, we are planning a flea market appro for the spring that would culminate in an event for exchanging clothes – already a tradition. Join us to continue the brainstorming!

The Environmental Committee’s new members’ evening is held at 6.00 pm on Thursday 20 February 2020 in meeting room Sparre in the New Student House (at Mannerheimintie 5 A, 2nd floor). Some snacks will be served!

Community Development Committee 27.2.

How could we make HYY even more open and communal than it is now? How can we promote equality? Are you interested in communities, equality and participation?

Come to the new members’ evening of HYY’s Community Development Committee, or Code for short, at 6 pm on Thursday 27 February! The new members’ evening will be held in Barrikaadi at Mechelininkatu 3D, and everyone is welcome to join! Participation does not obligate you to commit to anything, and you do not need any advance knowledge or experience of committee activities. You are also very welcome to present your own ideas.

Students Organisations Committee 27.2.

Would you like to meet new people across organisational and faculty boundaries? Is HYY’s diverse organisational field close to your heart? The Student Organisations Committee is involved in activities ranging from street sitsit to rewarding the volunteers in organisations and training chairpersons. Come and meet us and learn about our activities! We will be spending the evening hanging out and getting to know each other in a fun, relaxed manner, without forgetting the snacks. Participation does not bind you to anything – just join the fun with an open mind!

The evening is held in the meeting room Sparre (Mannerheimintie 5 A, New Student House, 2nd floor) on 27th of February at 6 pm. The new members’ evening has free entry.
