6. The shortcomings of student information systems in terms of respecting the right to self-determination of LGBTQIA+ students – joint statementStudents belonging to gender minorities do not have an equal right to have a gender marker corresponding to their actual gender in the student information systems. Usually, it is also not possible to define a self-chosen calling name in the systems. Nyyti ry has prepared a petition in which the goal is a 4-step gender code for data resources, limited access to the gender marker, and self-definition of the gender marker and preferred name. The joint statement is intended to be signed by LGBTQIA+ student organisations, student unions, student associations, and other student organisations. Sign the petition before 28 September at 11.59 p.m. |
