The coordinator’s duties include promoting voter turnout among students by means of communication, a parliamentary election panel for students and other campaigns and events that reach students. Another key duty for the coordinator is to support the Student Union’s Board and other personnel at the office with realising the election campaign and reaching the candidates.

The coordinator works in cooperation with our advocacy work and communication sectors, and we appreciate experience and vision on these fields.

We expect the chosen election coordinator to have:

  • Experience of event organisation
  • Communication skills
  • Interest in and perhaps even experience of advocacy work
  • Higher education studies
  • An independent approach to work as well as teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage large issues
  • Understanding of everyday student life

In addition to the above, we value familiarity with the student movement and a good command of Finnish, Swedish and English.

You will get:

  • An interesting, independent and challenging job
  • A salary that is in accordance with the student unions’ collective agreement with potential bonuses for education and experience*
  • Opportunities for education and development
  • Flexible working hours, a lunch benefit and opportunities for remote work
  • Awesome colleagues

The application period ends at 11.59 pm on Wednesday 9 November. Send us your free-form application letter with a maximum length of one page, with your CV attached. For further information, please contact Secretary General Mikko Kymäläinen (0400 816 426, mikko.kymalainen@hyy.fi).

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 15 November. Applicants invited for the interviews will be informed of this on Friday 11 November. *The basic salary for HYY’s specialists with 80% of the working hours of a full-time employee is 1,918.80 euros per month (salary group III in the student unions’ collective agreement). The salary is also affected by previously acquired experience and education.
