International Career Day

The International Career Day is an event organized by other international students so you don’t make the same mistakes we did when we came to Finland and started working here. There will be no CV clinics nor any hiring companies at the event. Instead, you will get to know all the practicalities of the Finnish working life which are obvious to Finns but maybe not so obvious when coming from abroad.

What is an unemployment fund? And a tax card? How do I get one? What is the role of a trade union? Where can I look for jobs? Where can I go for career advice? These are some of the questions that will be answered at the event.

Registration for the event will open in late September through the event page. We ask for registration to keep track of the amount of participants and ensure everyone gets a spot. If you don’t manage to register to the event in time, you can still come to Kumpula Campus on the day of the event. Some people will probably not show up and we will offer those places to anyone who wants to attend.
