We are organising a joint departure to the Helsinki Pride Parade – come along!

NEWS

We will meet up between Porthania and the Think Corner at 11:30 am on Saturday 27 June. From there, we will walk to the Senate Square together via Unioninkatu.

HYY is participating in the parade in block 11, which will be ready for the parade at the Senate Square at 12.00 am. We recommend arriving at the Senate Square well in advance because the area will be crowded.

The parade will start off from the Senate Square at 12.00. HYY’s block number 11 will set off after the last lorry, at around 1.30 pm.

The length of the route is around 2.8 km. We will arrive at Kaivopuisto at around 2.30 pm.

We recommend bringing your own water bottle to the parade. A water station will be available at the Senate Square.

Joining us for the meetup is easy, fun and free!
Organisations, members of HYY and personnel of the university can sign up for the meetup using this form.
Individual students can turn up for the meetup without signing up – see you in front of Porthania!

If you have any accessibility needs you’d like us to know about, use this form!

At HYY’s events, you can participate in discussions and activities without fear of inappropriate treatment or harassment. Safe space is created in the interaction between people, and each one of us is responsible for this. Get to know HYY’s principles for safer space here.

The event is organised outdoors. The parade’s route includes cobblestone streets. A lot of people will be participating in the event, and the event will feature loud noises. For further information on the arrangements of the parade, please contact the organisers of the Helsinki Pride Parade (info@pride.fi).

Quote from the Helsinki Pride 2026 site:

“All official Helsinki Pride accessible event venues will undergo a sensory assessment, and autism-friendly arrival instructions will be provided. Additionally, communication cards will be available at Helsinki Pride events, and our volunteers are trained to support people experiencing sensory overload. Pride House and the Park Celebration will include calm and sensory-friendly spaces.”
