1 Situation report on the coronavirus
The organisational sector is reviewing the coronavirus situation every two weeks and will inform you of the situation with the restrictions as well as other possible matters related to the coronavirus situation in the newsletter for organisations.

2 Take part in the organisation contest by Nov 8!
The organisation contest 2020 is here! Does your organisation’s advocacy act, community act or for example overall badge deserve the main award? Or do you know someone who is a true organisation hero?
This year, we are looking for winners in seven different contest categories as well as for organisation heroes. We have taken into account this exceptional time and it’s impact on organisations’ events and activities, and there is a brand new category in the contest.

3 Evening on financial statements at 5–8 pm on 24 November
HYY is organising a training session on making financial statements for the treasurers of organisations operating under the Student Union. During the session, you will learn how to make a financial statement for an organisation as well as what it should include. The training is provided by Timo Saarinen, who works as an audit assistant.
The course is held via remote connection at 5–8 pm on 24 November. The training is held in Finnish.
The training will include the use of the Tilitin software, so we are requesting participants to install the program in advance. You can download Tilitin for free here: http://helineva.net/tilitin/.
You can send questions for the trainer in advance. If you already know that you will have several tricky problems with topics such as calculating the balance sheet, expenses included in the income statement, posting receipts or anything else related to creating financial statements, send your question to Timo at timo.saarinen (a) nexia.fi.

4 Training session for performance auditors at 6 pm on 30 November!
Did you promise to act as a performance auditor a while ago and now need to find out what to do with all of the organisation’s operating documents? Attend out training session for performance auditors and we will get you out of trouble!
If you are not a performance auditor yourself, point your organisation’s performance auditor towards this opportunity!
HYY is organising a training session aimed at performance auditors where we will go through everything a performance audit includes. The training session is held at 6–8 pm on 30 November.
The trainers of the session are Miran Hamidulla and Santeri Velin, both of whom have loads of experience with being active in organisations and acting as performance auditors.
The training is held in Finnish using a remote connection.

5 Apply for furniture purchasing grant!
HYY supports furniture purchases for interior decoration in organisational premises. The grant is intended for organisations which primarily operate on HYY’s premises and the grant is mainly directed to the purchasing of tables, chairs, cupboards with locks and other interior items. The aim is that the furniture would increase the cosiness of the organisational premises and the willingness of organisations to look after their premises even better.
When allocating the furniture grant, we pay attention to the following: the ecological aspect, sustainability and necessity of the purchase. The furniture grant is not supposed to cover the entire purchase price but organisations are also expected to participate in the financing of the purchase.
The grant can be applied all year round. You can apply for the grant with an informal application, which should include the following information:
– applying organisation/organisations
– applied furniture
– budget
– reasons for the purchase
Applications can be submitted by e-mail to jarjesto(at)hyy.fi or by mail to the Student Union of the University of Helsinki, PL 1099, 00101 HELSINKI. Organisations that receive the grant must provide copies of the receipts to the same address no later than within four months after the allocation of the grant.
