The organisational sector will be on a Christmas break from 21.12.2022 to 1.1.2023. During this period, the organisation specialist will not answer emails or phone calls. For urgent matters, please contact the Secretary General Mikko Kymäläinen at mikko.kymalainen@hyy.fi.

2 Does your organisation have torches left over from the Independence Day Torchlight Procession? Please return them to HYY as soon as possible!
20 torches were lost during the Students Independence Day Torchlight Procession. The torches are the property of the City of Helsinki, so the organisers of the event will be charged approximately 100 euros per a lost torch. In addition, no new torches are anymore produced, so it is important that all torches are returned to HYY after the procession. This will ensure that this great tradition can continue in the future. If your organisation has any torches left over, please return them to HYY as soon as possible by contacting kulttuurisihteeri@hyy.fi.

3 Get ready to sign your organisation up for an idea competition!
HYY and the University of Helsinki are co-organising an idea competition for organisations in spring 2023. In the competition, you can suggest a concept for an event or activities in your organisation that is aimed at lowering the threshold for participation and reaching those who do not usually participate in the activities of student organisations. The goal of the contest is to encourage organisations to come up with solutions for reaching those who may feel left out of student circles and, on the other hand, for increasing the visibility of the organisations’ own activities. The organisations that come up with the four best ideas will be chosen as winners, each receiving 500 euros to realise their idea. Further information on the contest will be provided early next year – keep an eye on the newsletter for organisations and the social media channels of both HYY and the UH!

Myöhä is UniCafe’s sassy little sister and the students’ own living room. The food and drink selection is completely vegan, and high-quality non & low alcohol drinks are also available. Myöhä is located in Kaivopiha’s new wing next to the restaurant Fat Lizard. Myöhä can also be booked for your own event.
