The Student Union of the University of Helsinki advocates students’ interests. We organise services, benefits and events so that you can focus on the most important part: studying and student life. You can take your own path, assured of the fact that we will be smoothing the road ahead and advising you when needed.
Our voice can be heard at the University, the city and in events. We believe that happy students build a fairer world. For this reason, it is especially important to look after students. That is our job. That is our responsibility.

Our organisation
Our Student Union’s decisions are made by the Representative Council, which consists of 60 students and is elected every two years. The Council appoints HYY’s Board. The Board is supported in its daily activities by HYY’s personnel and several committees.

Facilities and reservations
We provide the organisations operating under us with different facilities they can use. The New Student House and Domma both have facilities for organising meetings, parties, academic dinner parties and sauna evenings.
