1. New facilities available for booking and HYY’s guide to facilities!A wide range of meeting and seminar spaces are now available to book through HYY’s booking calendar! You can now organise meetings in HYY’s spaces completely free of charge, from small board meetings to large seminars for up to 100 people. There is also good news for those in a party mood! Hittiputki, a free event venue for organisations operating within HYY, will open for bookings on Friday 6 November at 1 pm. The first available booking slot is on Thursday 12 November, so you can start celebrating soon! HYY aims to approve bookings as quickly as possible, but there may be a delay of a few working days. Please note that users are responsible for cleaning the spaces. If a space is not cleaned properly, a cleaning fee will be charged, even when booking a space that is otherwise free of charge. You can find more information about the new spaces in HYY’s updated guide to facilities for student organisations (unfortunately only available in Finnish and Swedish at the moment). There are currently no separate lists of the equipment available in each space. You can visit the spaces and check their equipment during HYY’s Service Office opening hours. |

2. HYY has withdrawn from the Finnish Student Sports FederationIn its meeting on 3 November 2026, HYY’s Board decided to withdraw from the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL). HYY has been actively discussing our membership in OLL since autumn 2024. In 2025 and 2026, we had a joint project with OLL. The project cooperation will not continue in 2027 and, as a result, HYY has decided to withdraw from the federation. This means, in practice, that for organisations operating within HYY, the membership benefits offered by OLL – such as accident insurance for sporting events and music licensing – will cease to apply with immediate effect. |
