HYY’s Tilda Lassila selected as member of SYL’s Board for 2025

The General Assembly of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) appointed SYL’s Board and chair for 2025.
HYY’s candidate Tilda Lassila, 22, was selected as member of the Board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for 2025. The decision on the Board’s composition was made by SYL’s general assembly, held in Espoo 15–16 November 2024.
Student of Social Sciences Lassila has been in charge of communication, sustainable development and the municipal elections on HYY’s Board this year.
‘I feel amazing, massive thanks to the general assembly for trusting me! This makes it easy to continue SYL’s long-term work for a better future. I want to thank all my supporters and fellow candidates. It has been a joy and an honour to conduct my campaign in such good company. Next year, we must be vocal about the challenging situation students are in, both during the government’s mid-term budget session and in general. I can’t wait to get to roll up my sleeves and get down to work! Now, however, I think it is time to relax and rest for a little while,’ Lassila comments on her selection and the upcoming year.
HYY’s candidate for the position of SYL’s chair for 2025, Antti Kaijansinkko, was not selected.

SYL represents all the around 140,000 university students in Finland, looking after students’ interests at the national level.
SYL’s general assembly convenes annually and is the union’s highest decision-making body. In addition to the selection of individuals, this year’s general assembly also decided on matters including SYL’s budget and action plan and the general assembly statement.
