HYY’s operating grants for organisations for 2025 have been allocated
NEWS
Student organisations play an important role in building a sense of community and being part of students’ everyday lives. That is why HYY wants to support the activities of the organisations operating under HYY with a financial operating grant. Any organisation operating under HYY is eligible to apply for an operating grant.
The scoring that the allocation of operating grants is based on is itself based on the matters and documents listed in the call for applications. Within the framework of these matters and documents, as well as other documents guiding the Financial Committee, the committee has, in the course of allocating the grants, made policy decisions both on a general level and, in special cases, in relation to individual organisations.
The total sums for operating grants in HYY’s budget for 2025 decreased significantly from the previous year’s sums, which decreases the size of the average operating grant. In this situation, the allocation model for operating grants states that the previous year’s grants are scaled down in proportion to the change in the overall sum before determining the minimum and maximum amounts of grant for each organisation. However, fewer organisations applied for the operating grants this year, while the stricter monitoring of the proportion of HYY’s members among organisations’ members along with the new caps on assets further reduced the number of organisations receiving a grant.
