HYY x Havis Amanda trash walk
- 28.08.2025, 12:00 - 13:30
- HYY
Did you know that Helsinki has the most litter on its streets around May Day and that Finland has the most litter-strewn coasts out of all Baltic Sea countries?
Do your part to fix this by joining HYY on our May Day trash walk from 12 noon to 1.30 pm on the Baltic Sea Day on 28 August!
We will meet at Havis Amanda at 12 noon. We will then walk around 1.5 kilometres to Ullanlinnanmäki and pick up the trash along the way. We hope you will join us! We will provide participants with cleaning equipment.
The Student Union of the University of Helsinki (HYY) will crown Havis Amanda on May Day Eve 2026. The theme of the crowning is the Baltic Sea and its wellbeing. What could be a better place to turn our attention to the wellbeing of our home sea than a gathering of 80,000 people around Havis Amanda, a representation of the city of Helsinki rising from the Baltic Sea?
