The candidates of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki, Bachelor of Arts Tapio Heiskari and Student of Educational Sciences Marina Lampinen were appointed for the board of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) for the year 2012.
SYL is the largest student organisation in Finland with 135,000 university students in its member student unions. The board of SYL was appointed in the union meeting arranged in Hyvinkää on 18-19 November. Jarno Lappalainen from Aalto University Student Union was appointed as the chair of the board.
Other members appointed for the board of seven members include Eveliina Heinäluoma from the Student Union of the University of Lapland, Milja Henttonen from the Student Union of the University of Turku, Lauri Jurvanen from the Student Union of the University of Eastern Finland and Kim Rantala from the Student Union of the University of Oulu.
SYL supervises university students' interests at the national level and comments on educational, social and international issues.
