Art for us! The students will get a head start on Wappu at Ateneum

There will be a Wappu pre-party for students held at Ateneum on Thursday 28.4. The eventful day is a part of the Art for us! series of events. The entrance is free all day to Ateneum with a student card, so that you can get to know the Illusions of Reality exhibition as well as get into the mood of the approaching Wappu. At the Wappu pre-party we will get to know Aki Kaurismäki’s Helsinki, listen to interesting speakers and enjoy music.

The Art for us! day was held for the first time last October at Ateneum and was widely popular among students.

Wappu pre-party itinerary

10 am – 10 pm Free entrance to Ateneum with a valid student card.

4 pm – 7 pm Nonstop medal workshop
At the Nonstop workshop every hero of reality can reward himself or herself with a medal.

4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm Introductions to the Illusions of Reality exhibition / Ateneum hall
We get to know the themes and works of the Illusions of Reality exhibition with the help of an expert guide. In Finnish.

5 pm – 6 pm The Akademiska Damkören Lyran choir quartet
Music in the exhibition halls, the museum’s main staircase and restaurant Tablo.

6 pm Kaurismäki’s Helsinki / Restaurant Tablo
Elomedia’s executive Satu Kyösola presents Aki Kaurismäki’s film Calamari Union. Discussing Kaurismäki’s Helsinki are assistant director of Calamari Union Marjaana Mykkänen, actor Janne Hyytiäinen from the film Laitakaupungin valot and writer Mato Valtonen. The discussions will be led by DJ Njassa, known radio voice from Radio Helsinki. In Finnish.

6.30 pm Calamari Union (duration 80 min) / Restaurant Tablo
The Franks’ life threatening adventure through the city towards Eira.

8 pm – 10 pm DJ Njassa / Restaurant Tablo
The exhibition halls will close at 8 pm, and the after following discussions will take place at the bar until 10 pm.

Other events:
- HOK-Elanto’s and Helsingin Sanomat as well as friends of Ateneum will introduce themselves at the inner yard of Ateneum. In addition competitions, surprises and benefits for students.
- Discounts and offers also at Ateneum’s store and at restaurant Tablo.
- Sausage for sale outside of Ateneum 6 pm – 8 pm.
